Steve Demeter of Demiforce mentioned at Mobilize during a Venture Capital panel Q&A that his physics-based puzzle game, Trism ($4.99), has netted him $250,000 since the launch of the App Store back on July 11th. Mobilize is a one-day conference by GigaOm, in which they talk about the future of broadband web and other mobile content.
For independent game developers, this provides a big reason why the success of the App Store and gaming on the iPhone/iPod Touch platform is worth looking into. To earn a quarter of a million dollars in two months is that big reason.
