oeFun, the developer of Tilt Me (see our review), iVoodoo, and more, will soon be making their shape-matching puzzle game, Cosmic One, available in the App Store. The planned price will be $0.99. In Cosmic One, you rotate a “catcher”, a round disc with shapes outlined on it, by dragging it up and down to the desired shape.

Tiles will fall towards the catcher, and your job is to rotate the catcher to align the shapes on it to match the tile’s shape falling towards it. The game allows for both left-handed and right-handed gamers to play, with the catcher being on the side of the screen you choose.

As the shapes are falling, you can tap it to make it shoot faster and be absorbed into the catcher. The higher the tile is on the screen when you tap it, the more points you’re rewarded. You lose points if the shape crashes into the catcher with the wrong shape aligned. After so many hits to the catcher, the game will end and your high score will show up. You can enter your name and see how you match up against the global online community and the Top Ten best scores.

The longer you go and the more points you score, the more levels you advance to, and the tiles will fall faster and faster, challenging your eye-hand coordination and reflex skills.

Cosmic One features crisp sound effects, easy to pick up and play multi-touch controls, smooth visuals powered by OpenGL ES, and an excellent spacey ambient musical score that reacts as you play. The main menu’s soundtrack is especially fantastic.

Expect a review of Cosmic One when the game becomes available in the App Store. For now, check out the gameplay video by clicking the screenshot above.
