Watermelons Available in App Store

Phil Hassey, developer of the excellent Galcon, sent word that his new game, Watermelons ($0.99), is now available in the App Store. In Watermelons, you guide a trampoline under watermelons falling out of a tree to keep them from smashing on the ground.

Watermelons is the ultimate fruit rescue mission game! The local watermelon tree has gone berserk and is producing fresh watermelons at an amazing rate.

You must move your trampoline at high speed in order to save the melons from splattering horribly on the ground. You get ten slip-ups before you lose your job as the Melon Master.

To get an idea of the gameplay, watch the video below:

I know I shouldn’t be bothered by a simple little game, but a watermelon tree??? They grow on vines! C’MON!

Oh the controversy!

…the *ultimate* fruit rescue mission game?
How many other fruit rescue mission games are there?

And no, watermelons don’t grow on trees. Wouldn’t an apple tree or an orange tree make more sense?

Well, to be fair, it’s a lot easier to bounce and catch watermelons than oranges and apples. Besides, you’re comparing oranges to apples …
