Keith Shepherd of Imangi Studios let us know that he recently submitted his new game, Imangi Word Squares, to the App Store and it should show up anytime between today and next week. Imangi Word Squares, which will start off with a price of $0.99, is a puzzle game based on a game that is thousands of years old. There will be a thousand hand-selected unique puzzles of various sizes and difficulties. He said that he stumbled upon the ancient puzzle game while developing Imangi ($3.99).
At the time, I was curious to know if it was possible to fill an entire 6×8 Imangi board with valid words. I found out that it was possible if you are given the correct letters, and that it is called a word square. This inspired me to include solvable “Perfect Imangi” boards for the Daily Challenge in Imangi every once in a while. These turned out to be quite popular and fun, and I decided to turn them into a full game.
In Imangi Word Squares, you start with a scrambled word square, and it’s your job to unscramble the letters. Simply drag and drop the letters to the correct place. We give you a few hints to get started, and you can always use the hint button if you get stuck. The game strategy is very similar to Sudoku, and if you enjoy that type of puzzle, you’ll love Imangi Word Squares.
