Developed by Padadaz, Bix ($0.99 – Free Demo) is a clone of the classic arcade game Qix. Bix on the iPhone/iPod Touch is a quick pick-up-and-play puzzle game that has you creating blocks that fill up, and the object of the game is to fill up 75% of the screen to advance to the next level.
However, you have to avoid the floating dots; they can’t touch your line or you lose a life. As you advance in levels, more dots show up, and some move slow, and some move very fast. Some of the dots have special powerups, that if you trap them in a block, will give you their special powers (slow down or an extra life.)
An average game session is about 3 to 5 minutes, which makes it perfect for when you want a quick game. Control is done by swiping. Swipe in the direction you want your dot to go. Control is easy and responsive.
While I would’ve preferred a more colorful visual, the current modern look does the job well enough. There’s no sound or music. At the end of each game, if you have a high score, you can input your name to show up on the local scoreboard.
Bix is a fun puzzle game that’s great for a quick pickup game. If you’d like to try it out yourself, you can download the free Lite version from the App Store.

If its a rip off of Qix. Which it is. Why is it allowed to be sold at a profit on the apps store ? I don’t get how this sort of IP infrigenment can occur ? Square Enix ownes Taito, who developed the game in the early 80’s.
I bought version 1.5.5 of this app but when it gets downloaded and installed on my IPod Touch, the about screen says it’s version 1.5.1 and I don’t get the save feature which is suppose to be in the latest version
Has anyone else had this problem?
