Gameloft Announces Brothers in Arms: Hour of Heroes, Hero of Sparta

Gameloft announced two new titles due for release before year’s end, the first of which is Brothers in Arms: Hour of Heroes. Based on the PC/console WWII series, the game will be a third-person shooter with jeep and tank driving, in addition to its onfoot firefights.

Hour of Heroes will use a virtual directional pad for movement, similar to Real Soccer 2009 ($7.99), with elements like ducking for cover and jumping over obstacles handled automatically by the game.

And if that isn’t enough heroism for the holiday season, Gameloft has Hero of Sparta, a third-person mythological hack-n-slash in the same style as Sony’s God of War series, coming up for mobile and iPhone.

According to The Guardian’s preview, Hero of Sparta also uses a virtual D-pad for contextual options like hitting, defending, and changing weapons. Players can string together moves and even execute a finishing move by tapping an icon that appears during combat.

The company posted a cinematic trailer for the newly announced title:

And with the Hero of Sparta video clip, Gameloft also included a brief description:

“Take up the maddest challenge in this mythic full-3D adventure and let it bring you from the depths of the Underworld to the summit of Olympus. Be prepared for hours of gaming and visual enjoyment, and fight the most phenomenal mythical creatures in majectic [sic] 3D environments.”
