Gameloft Revenues Up Following 2 Million iPhone Game Downloads

Worldwide mobile games publisher Gameloft announced that its yearly revenues increased in 2008, noting that the year’s operating income of €3.3 million is a jump of 15% over 2007′s figure. The company also confirms that it has sold more than 2 million games on Apple’s iPhone platform in the last eight months.

Gameloft boasts exceptional performance in the iPhone arena, claiming that 16 of its 27 available titles for the platform have charted among the iTunes top ten daily app downloads. A handful of these titles have even made repeat chart appearances, in some cases more than six months after their initial release.

Mobile games sales accounted for 93 percent of Gameloft’s overall revenue in 2008. The company expects further mobile growth in 2009.
