With Gamevil’s Baseball Superstars 2009 continuing to do brisk business in the iTunes App Store, another Korea-based mobile developer has stepped up with its own baseball offerings for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Com2uS has announced the upcoming releases of 9 Innings: Pro Baseball 2009 (shown above) and Baseball Slugger: Homerun Race, a pair of titles that each feature unique sets of features and gameplay styles.
Baseball Slugger caters more toward the casual crowd, offering simple home run derby-styled gameplay. Swings are controlled via accelerometer, and players will be able to customize their characters using the In-App Purchasing functionality of the upcoming iPhone 3.0 OS.
9 Innings is a more traditional and fully featured take on the genre. 9 Innings allows players to control both pitching and batting, and includes a career mode that spans a full season of 116 games and playoffs. Management features will allow gamers to track player performance, maintain a team roster, and make in-game substitutions.
Com2uS recently released a new batch of screenshots for 9 Innings, which can be seen in the gallery below.
