If you’re looking for length and depth in your iPhone app library, you might want to check this one out. Billed as “the return of the classic action RPG,” Gamevil’s Zenonia ($5.99) successfully combines The Legend of Zelda-like gameplay with an appropriate 16-bit aesthetic.
Though combat in Zenonia largely revolves around swordplay, the game further expands the Zelda series’ gameplay with a skill tree, a good and evil system, and a full day/night cycle. Item collection also plays heavily into Zenonia’s gameplay, and it even includes a hunger and weight system that affects your character’s appearance and abilities.
It all sounds especially ambitious and impressive for an iPhone title, especially considering that the adventure is said to be more than 40 hours in length. An official walkthrough detailing Zenonia’s features is below.
