Derek Yu’s Puzzler Diabolika Debuts on iPhone, $1.99


Indie dev Derek Yu has released his newest work, the iPhone turn-based puzzler Diabolika ($1.99). Yu is the creator of the wonderful roguelike-inspired platformer Spelunky, along with other notable titles like Eternal Daughter and Aquaria.

Billed as “a devious puzzle game (for all ages),” Diabolika builds upon the gameplay concepts found in Yu’s Diabolika series, as originally released for PC platforms.

Diabolika challenges players to blow up an army of invading demons using an assortment of exploding monsters. In order to achieve maximum demon-exploding efficiency, players must link monsters together and detonate them in screen-spanning chain reactions.

Diabolika also features what is easily the best ad campaign I’ve ever seen for an iPhone game. Both of the game’s extremely rad commercials are below. They’re probably going to be the best things you’ll watch today.
