Hudson today released the latest iPhone entry in its enduring Bomberman series, Bomberman Touch 2: Volcano Party ($2.99). Hudson notes that the title requires the recently released iPhone OS 3.0 upgrade, due to its inclusion of Bluetooth-enabled multiplayer gameplay.
Volcano Party’s multiplayer extends beyond the competitive focus of many other Bomberman titles, however, as the game includes a two-player cooperative campaign. Challenge Mode contains a series of co-op mazes in which players must keep one step ahead of a river of molten lava. A boss awaits at the end of each level.
Bomberman Touch 2 also includes a Battle Mode, which allows up to four players (including AI-controlled opponents) to compete simultaneously over a Bluetooth connection.
