Pipe Mania (also known as Pipe Dream in the United States) has been around for so long and has appeared on so many platforms that it needs little introduction. Its core gameplay has been featured in countless clones, and variations have appeared in everything from BioShock to last week’s release of Droplitz.
Today, Pipe Mania ($4.99) makes an officially licensed appearance on the iPhone, courtesy of publisher Virtual Programming. Pipe Mania’s gameplay remains mostly unchanged from its earlier releases — players must connect a series of pipes in order to transport “flooze” from one part of a level to another.
The iPhone version of Pipe Mania attempts to mix things up with themed levels that switch the standard pipes for candy canes and railroad tracks. Virtual Programming promises that dozens of levels are included in the iPhone version of Pipe Mania, which it calls “the most successful puzzle game ever created.” Wait, seriously?
