Free App Releases: Jimney Chimney, Assassin’s Creed, Zenonia and More

Here, FingerGaming rounds up the best, worst, and weirdest free iPhone and iPod Touch games released over the past week in the iTunes App Store.

This week’s free releases include demo editions of Zenonia and Assassin’s Creed: Altair’s Chronicles, along with free full versions of Jimney Chimney and Climb Unlimited.

- Jimney Chimney (Matto)
This twin-stick shooter is entirely free to play, and uses vector graphics to great effect. It’s one of those games that makes you wish you had see-through fingers, though.

- TapStar Free (EpicTilt)
It’s like DDR if DDR was mostly unenjoyable. I didn’t like it, but hopefully it’ll get better with future updates.

- Zenonia Lite (Gamevil)
Gamevil’s 16-bit-styled action-RPG gets a free Lite demo with 8 playable quests. Try it!

- Water Toy Lite (Lousy Games)
“Remember those water toys you used to play with back in the days? Yeah, that’s this.” No words wasted here.

- Assassin’s Creed: Altair’s Chronicles Free (Gameloft)
The demo version of the impressive iPhone port of Altair’s Chronicles is very popular with App Store customers, and currently ranks at first place in Apple’s Top Free Apps chart.

- Climb Unlimited (Victorinox)
A mountain climbing sim released in promotion for a French perfume company. Makes sense.

- Hell’s Kitchen Lite (Ludia)
Now, Gordon Ramsay can call you a donkey anytime, completely free of charge.

- DJ Mix Tour Free (Gameloft)
Yet more rhythm-based gameplay, courtesy of Gameloft.

- Round Runner (Miller Lite)
Deliver lite beer to your lite beer-deprived friends. Apple warns that you must be 17 years of age or older to download this sophisticated piece of software.

- Aerobatic Hero Lite (Kemco)
Kemco’s overlooked aerial stunt simulator receives a free Lite version. Go Kemco!

- Kurakku Lite (PlayJam)
Well hey, it’s about time someone finally got around to ripping off Uo Poko. This is less fun, but it’s still a neat puzzler concept.
