Major console games publisher 2K Games has joined the world of iPhone development with the release of Civilization Revolution ($4.99), a port of the company’s recent console adaptation of Sid Meier’s Civilization franchise.
Civilization Revolution features much of the same complexity that defined previous games in the Civilization series, but includes a new focus on accessibility and ease-of-use. Early reports indicate that the iPhone port suffers from slightly downgraded graphics, but otherwise offers a deep and satisfying simulation experience.
2K Games has also released a free Lite version, and notes that the paid version will be available for 50 percent off of its normal price during its first two days of release.
