Mobile developer Self Aware Games has released the puzzler Word Ace (free), which the company claims is the first game to feature cross-compatible multiplayer gameplay for the Palm Pre, iPhone, and iPod Touch.
Self Aware describes Word Ace as a combination of Texas Hold ‘Em and a Scrabble-like word creation game. Gameplay involves drawing cards and using the letters on their faces to form high-scoring words.
Word Ace includes online matchmaking functionality that pairs players with competition across multiple mobile platforms. Players can opt to compete in public matches or in private sessions with friends.
The title additionally features player friends lists, in-game text chat, and the ability to send invitations to online friends.
Word Ace is available as a free download from the Palm Pre applications catalog and from the iTunes App Store.
