Bomberman franchise developer Hudson Entertainment has announced a lineup of four iPhone titles set to hit the App Store throughout September. iPhone owners can expect to see Knights of the Phantom Castle, Military Madness: Neo Nectaris, Aqua Forest 2 and World RPS later this month.
Military Madness: Neo Nectaris is perhaps the most exciting of the bunch, offering a touch screen-driven upgrade to Hudson’s classic turn-based strategy series. Players will use ground troops, tanks, and aircraft to take out enemy armies throughout several challenging maps.
Knights of the Phantom Castle presents an alternate take on the strategy genre. Says Hudson: “Using intuitive touch-screen input, players will execute strategies quickly and effectively by analyzing weaknesses and utilizing the battlefield by manipulating enemy directions.” So, basically, it’s a sophisticated tower defense game.
Aqua Forest 2 “will deliver finely tuned physics based brain-teasers for the iPhone gamer looking for the next level in puzzle gaming.” It’s a nature-themed puzzler that includes 50 stages and a level editor, which will allow users to create and share their own puzzles through a community website.
World RPS is, yes, a rock-paper-scissors game. Hudson admits in its press release that many similar titles are already available in the App Store, but claims that this one is special, because it features global online play, GPS-enabled regional matches, and persistent stats and leaderboards.
