The Showtime television drama Dexter has made its video game debut, premiering in the iTunes App Store over the weekend. Dexter: The Game ($5.99) adapts the series to the iPhone with a mix of investigative gameplay and stealth-action sequences.
In Dexter: The Game, players take on the role of Dexter Morgan, a serial killer who works as a blood splatter analyst for the Miami police department. Dexter’s the scrupulous sort, though, and will only kill criminals who have escaped justice and deserve to be punished. With death.
The bulk of Dexter’s gameplay involves stalking suspected criminals and investigating crime scenes. Once you confirm that yes, the criminal in question does indeed deserve killing, you kill them.
Dexter: The Game features over 1100 lines of dialog, an original storyline written by series producer Tim Schlattmann, and a context-sensitive control scheme suited for the iPhone’s touch screen.
