Leisure Suit Larry Creator Al Lowe Brings CyberJoke 3000 to iPhone

cyberjokeAl Lowe played a big role in the adventure game genre’s formative years, programming early titles in Sierra On-Line’s Police Quest and King’s Quest franchises before creating the Leisure Suit Larry series. From that point forward, computer game sex comedies were never the same.

So what’s Lowe been up to since then? Well, he definitely didn’t play any role in developing the most recent (and god-awful) Leisure Suit Larry games, that’s for sure. Since 1999, though, Lowe has maintained a daily joke mailing list, which now has a “greatest hits” collection with the iPhone app CyberJoke 3000 ($1.99).

CyberJoke 3000 collects more than 100 of Lowe’s personal favorite jokes, all of which are read aloud by a professional comedian. Users can browse the collection with a search feature, save favorites to a customizable list, and rate individual jokes in an online global scoring system.
