Via Noby Noby Boy’s Facebook profile comes the first two in-game screenshots from the upcoming iPhone port of Noby Noby Boy. And they’re about as inscrutable as you would imagine.
Noby Noby Boy, the latest work from Katamari Damacy creator Keita Takahashi, debuted on the PlayStation 3 platform earlier this year, earning a critical reception equivalent to a confused, slack-jawed stare. More of a virtual playground than a game, Noby Noby Boy puts players in control of a stretchable, snake-like creature that can devour objects in the world around him.
The first screenshot, above, shows Noby Noby Boy being split in twain by a passing car. Noby warns in a caption that cars are “very dangerous.” Indeed!
The second shot shows one of the iPhone port’s new features — players are able to scrawl messages across the body of a stretched Noby Noby Boy. What purpose this serves, if any, is currently unknown.
No release date has yet been announced for the iPhone port of Noby Noby Boy, but development seems to be progressing nicely. We’ll have more on this cheerful insanity as it develops.
