Ngmoco is quick to follow up on Apple’s recent announcement that free apps may now include paid content via in-app purchases. The company has released Rolando 2: Chapter 1, a free download that includes the game’s first few levels, with the remaining stages available as paid downloadable content.
After playing through the first chapter of Rolando 2, players are given the option to purchase chapters 2, 3, and 4 at 99 cents each. The game’s final two chapters are available together in a bundle priced at $1.99.
Ngmoco has also lowered the price of the full version of Rolando 2 to better match the new download-supported pricing structure. The full game is now available for $4.99, down from its previous price of $5.99.
