While Realtime Associates had a hit on its hands with the interactive audio novel app Soul Trapper: Episode 1, the game never saw a sequel, and follow-up titles in the planned Realtime Audio Adventures series never materialized.
Soul Trapper’s future may remain uncertain on the iPhone, but Publishers Weekly reports that franchise author F.J. Lennon has signed a deal with Simon & Schuster to produce a series of three novels based on the Soul Trapper universe. Publishers Weekly speculates that Simon & Schuster could use future iPhone releases in the Soul Trapper series to promote the upcoming novels, though no such plans have yet been announced by the publisher.
Soul Trapper pioneered Realtime Associates’ foray into the “interactive audio adventure” genre, and featured more than three hours of audio-driven gameplay. The game sold more than 25,000 copies since its initial release late last year.
