Barroom Hunting Sim Big Buck Hunter Pro Comes to the iPhone

You’ve seen it before. Possibly very recently. It’s over by the pool tables at Rack Daddy’s. It’s sandwiched between the Cruis’n World and Maximum Force machines at the local Fuddruckers. And now it’s on your iPhone.

Big Buck Hunter Pro ($2.99) is an iPhone adaptation of “the world’s #1 arcade hunting game.” Big Buck Hunter comes to the App Store boasting a simple touch-to-shoot gameplay mechanic, with none of the potentially confusing complexity of other hunting sims. The object is to shoot the biggest whitetail bucks you can find, without hitting any does or other “crafty critters.”

Well, unless the game specifically tells you to shoot them. Bonus minigames allow players to shoot flocks of ducks, invading gophers, and even innocent frogs. Jeez! Poor frogs.

As a bonus, Big Buck Hunter Pro also includes an Arcade Game Locator feature, which allows players to track down the nearest Big Buck Hunter arcade machine (similar to how one would track down a deer, or possibly gopher) via the iPhone’s GPS functionality.
