Chaim Gingold, lead designer of the creature creator tools in EA’s Spore, has teamed up with Brutal Legend artist Jane Ng to create Earth Dragon ($2.99), which debuted today in the iTunes App Store.

In Earth Dragon, players take control of a dragon under the employ of an incredibly pissed-off Mother Earth. Seems that humans have been abusing the planet’s bounty for far too long, and it’s up to you to deliver unto them flame-broiled retribution.

In addition to devouring humans and setting castles ablaze, the Earth Dragon will collect treasure and fight evil dragon bosses between levels. He’ll also occasionally terrorize the local cow population, just because he can. Earth Dragon features a control scheme that blends the iPhone’s touch and tilt functionality, and includes 15 levels.
