Activision Releases Call of Duty: World at War Zombies for iPhone

While console and PC gamers still have their hands full with the recent release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, iPhone owners can also get a taste of the action this week with the release of Call of Duty: World at War Zombies ($9.99).

Inspired by an unusual gameplay mode in last year’s Call of Duty: World at War, this iPhone adaptation of Activision’s popular first-person shooter series puts players in the middle of one of World War II’s most famous battles: Nacht der Untoten (Night of the Undead). It’s up to you, as a lone member of the Allied forces holed up in a barricaded bunker, to fight off an army of undead Nazis for as long as possible.

You don’t have to take on the zombie hordes alone, though. Up to four players can join the undead warfare over a Wi-Fi connection, and two players can cooperate over Bluetooth. The game additionally includes multiple control schemes, a set of unlockable achievements, and the promise of downloadable content, to be released at a future date.
