Last we heard from Manomio, the company’s iPhone Commodore 64 emulator C64 had been pulled from the App Store, following the discovery that users could enter custom BASIC code via a hidden interface. One update later, C64 ($4.99) is back and ready to satisfy your nostalgic cravings once more.
In addition to the 8 games included in the core package (Dragons Den, Le Mans, Jupiter Lander, Arctic Shipwreck, Jack Attack, International Soccer, International Basketball, and International Tennis), players will soon be able to purchase other standout titles from the Commodore 64′s library. One of the most famous games of the bunch — the platformer/brawler Bruce Lee — will be available as a free download.
Other upcoming releases include Stormlord, Paradroid, Druid, Alleykat, and Kickstart Off-Road Simulator. Also announced are Uridium and Cybernoid — both of which were recently released for the Nintendo Wii’s Virtual Console service.
All C64 expansion content will be cheaper than the standalone Wii releases, however. Manomio announced that the price for its in-app purchases is capped at $1.99. In-app purchases will be available once version 1.2 of C64 has passed Apple’s approval process.
