Illusion Labs’ marble-rolling puzzler Labyrinth provided an impressive early demonstration of the iPhone’s capabilities. While simple, Labyrinth’s gameplay was realistic and convincing, and the iPhone’s accelerometer provided accurate control input.
Illusion Labs announced that it will roll out Labyrinth 2 by the end of the year. The sequel will feature a variety of new gameplay elements, including cannons, bumpers, doors, magnets, fans, resizers, merry-go-rounds, duplicators, and lasers.
Another new feature will allow users to create custom levels and share them online. All custom levels will be rated by the community, and players will be able to sort and download the best of the bunch.
Labyrinth 2 also includes a 4-player multiplayer mode playable over a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection. The game has been submitted to Apple for review, and should show up in the App Store soon.
