Gameloft’s sci-fi first-person shooter N.O.V.A. turned heads when it was revealed earlier this year, both for its impressive graphics and because of its obvious similarity to Bungie’s Halo series.
N.O.V.A. – Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance ($6.99) is now available for purchase from the App Store, and many of the game’s elements will be unquestionably familiar to fans of the Halo series. Players control a Master Chief lookalike (complete with regenerating shield) on a mission to save a space colony from an invading alien threat.
N.O.V.A. features six weapons, three customizable control schemes, and 13 levels bridged by in-game cinematics. The game also includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth online multiplayer modes, playable over Gameloft Live. A preview trailer is below.

It’s $6.99, not $9.99.
