Heavy Mach premiered in the App Store nearly a year ago, offering tilt-controlled action in the vein of arcade classics like Metal Slug. The sequel, Heavy Mach 2 ($2.99), features vastly different gameplay from the original, serving up overhead-view shooting action with RPG elements.
Prior to each mission, players arm a customizable fighting machine with upgradable armor, parts, and weapons. Combat is now touch-based — movement is controlled through a series of player-defined waypoints, and enemies are targeted by tapping. It’s a very different and much simpler setup than the game’s accelerometer-controlled predecessor.
Heavy Mach 2 boasts hundreds of weapon and parts combinations, and features multiple levels complete with challenging enemies and bosses.
