Konami’s latest App Store effort expands on the basic gameplay concepts in titles like Doodle Jump, giving the player greater control over character movement. WireWay ($4.99), originally released for the Nintendo DS last year, is now available for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
In WireWay, players guide the springy alien Wiley through a series of vertically scrolling levels. Wiley automatically attaches to wires located throughout each stage. By pulling and stretching the wires, players can launch Wiley skyward toward each level’s goal.
Wiley can only fly a short distance at first, but by collecting Elan stars scattered throughout each level, he’ll soon be able to travel greater distances with each fling.
WireWay contains three gameplay modes and 32 stages, with an additional 16 missions and 8 challenges available with the purchase of a $1.99 expansion pack.
