App Store publisher IUGO announced that it will upgrade several of its most popular titles to support Apple’s soon-to-be-released iPad.
Unlike other developers who plan to add iPad support through the release of higher-priced standalone apps, however, IUGO revealed that its iPad-specific upgrades will be available as free updates for supported applications.
IUGO notes that iPhone and iPod Touch owners will still have access to the majority of content in upgraded applications, though iPad owners will enjoy exclusive features that take advantage of the device’s larger screen.
IUGO’s physics-based puzzler Implode!, for instance, will get an iPad-exclusive level editor, as shown above. The race-to-the bottom action title Cliffed will allow two players to compete head-to-head on an iPad, while Zombie Attack! Second Wave will boast a new user interface and updated graphics.
The upcoming ESCAPE: Norm’s World will also take advantage of the iPad’s capabilities with exclusive two-player head-to-head and cooperative gameplay modes.

It’s been so long since we’ve heard any updates about IUGO’s A.D.D. that I’d nearly forgotten about the game entirely. After an unusually lengthy review process, Apple has finally granted its approval, and A.D.D. ($2.99) is now available for purchase from the App Store.
IUGO first revealed its difficulties with Apple’s review process more than three months ago. Though a Lite edition received Apple’s approval, a full version of A.D.D. never materialized, likely due to concerns over the game’s crude humor and potentially offensive content.
The final version still has plenty of objectionable material — Apple has given A.D.D. no fewer than eight content warnings, and it’s only available to App Store users over 17 years old.
As for the game itself, think WarioWare, but with more boogers, blood, sex, farts, and…whatever is going on in the screenshot above. A.D.D. includes more than 70 minigames in all, with more on the way in future updates.

IUGO’s microgame compilation A.D.D. made an unusual debut in the App Store several months ago. Released only as a free Lite demo — with no paid version available for purchase — A.D.D. was nevertheless a memorable experience, successfully combining a juvenile sense of humor with quick-draw gameplay scenarios inspired by Nintendo’s Wario Ware series.
In an announcement yesterday, A.D.D.’s developers revealed the reasoning behind the unusual release strategy — and it wasn’t intentional. Both free and paid versions of A.D.D. were meant to launch at the same time, but for unspecified reasons, Apple approved the Lite edition and held back the paid version.
This isn’t unusual, as many apps have seen delays and rejections due to unexpected violations of Apple’s standards for content. What makes this story noteworthy is that A.D.D. Lite launched nearly three months ago. To this day, the full version of A.D.D. remains stalled in Apple’s approval process.

The Toy Bot Diaries series may have wrapped up months ago, but since then, developer IUGO has quietly been at work on a follow-up title. Spy Bot Chronicles has been submitted to Apple for review, and should appear in the App Store shortly.
Judging from the screenshots released so far, Spy Bot Chronicles appears to offer a more traditional take on the platforming genre. Whereas the Toy Bot games featured tilt-based movement and grappling mechanics, Spy Bot Chronicles maps its controls to an on-screen interface, apparently nixing the series’ distinctive accelerometer control scheme.
Spy Bot Chronicles boasts the following features:
- Innovative hack ability allows Spy Bot to change the world around him
- 4 different zones containing hours of gameplay
- Hidden levels to find
- 35 unique collectibles
- Over half a dozen characterful enemies
- Distinct music for each zone and major challenges
- Interactive animation and art
IUGO estimates that Spy Bot Chronicles will feature as much content as the three Toy Bot titles combined. No final release date or price has yet been announced.

IUGO also announces that its previous releases Shaky Summit and Zombie Attack! have been reduced in price, and are now available for purchase from the App Store for 99 cents each.

IUGO Mobile Entertainment sent word that they are indeed working on the second episode of Toy Bot Diaries, which will continue the adventures of the popular little robot from the first game, Toy Bot Diaries: Entry 1 ($3.99 – Free Demo). The developer claims the game is almost done and all they have to do is to apply the final layer of polish the first game is known for. You can find our review of Toy Bot Diaries: Entry 1 here.
Entry 2 will carry off where the first game left off, with the toy robot venturing out of the gumball machine into a bigger, more challenging world with a variety of new puzzles and “a few surprises sure to please all of Toy Bot’s loyal fans.”
Additionally, they mentioned the next game they’re working on, which follows up the release of Shaky Summit ($4.99). The new game is called Zombie Attack!, and they hint at the game being easy on the wallets, which could either mean 99 cents or free. There wasn’t much information on the game being given, but I can say that it will be a tower defense strategy-style game. My guess is that you have to shoot down the rounds of zombies that appear before they reach … who knows, a pile of brains maybe? Zombie Attack! will be available in the App Store soon, more than likely to take advantage of Halloween.
